DAVID RAMSAY AWARD

The David Ramsay Music Award is presented each year to the member of PACE who has shown musical  promise during the preceding PACE year. It is presented in memory of David Ramsay, PACE’S first Musical Director and one of the original PACE team members.   His was an extraordinary musical talent which produced an incredible back catalogue of songs and compositions that are still remembered and can often still be heard in PACE shows.  He is sadly missed. The award is sponsored by the blues group “Big Vern ‘n’ the Shootahs”, the band David played in.  It is awarded in June each year at the Midsummer Ball.

OGADS PERFORMANCE AWARD

The OGADS Performance Award, comprising of a specially designed glass trophy and £200.00, is awarded each year at the summer ball for outstanding performances during that year by a PACE member.  the OGADS was a thriving amateur dramatic society in Paisley up to the late 1980s before Youth Theatre, or indeed PACE became an outlet for the cultural aspirations of young people, and this award recognises that role played by OGADS and other similar organisations in the past cultural life of Renfrewshire.
