This long-established project offers pupils the chance to participate, perform and have fun whilst learning about and subsequently delievering to their audience of fellow pupils and/or parents, a very important message. It is this form of participatory theatre and peer education that make the PACE experience unique.
The process involves the PACE team coming to your school for a day or half day and working with a group of pupils in a workshop involving drama, music and movement during which a show is rehearsed (any songs are sent out in advance for familiarisation). At the end of the day the pupils perform this show, along with the PACE team, to the rest of the school and, if desired, parents. Shows cover a variety of topics; encourage confidence, self-expression and communication skills; and can be used as a catalyst for discussion or more in-depth work on the issues raised.
