Oh it’s all going to be such fun. The thrill of listening to all these ” big voices” go at it …
We’ve trimmed our sails a bit , lost some ballast over the other Drama side and are soaring upwards now towards Endeavours End
With a strong creative wind behind us, blowing us in the “right” direction …
At this point I strangely recall actor Hugh Bonneville ( Downton) ” in his latest TV role as BBC Director of Better ” in the TV programme W1A
…and pay deserved tribute here to BBC 2’s Genius parody of the inner workings of their own Broadcasting Institution By saying
“Well that’s all good then ! ”
If you haven’t seen it search it on iplayer catch up ; Even just to see the character of the ” posh ” boy BBC intern Will , with his clueless , upper class affectations and stammering repeririv vocab delivery of
“.. yeah , sure , no worries , yeah cool , cool , ugh……..no worries , yeah sure ..no cool.”
And the actress who plays , Siobahn of the fictitious BBC Brand Management company ” Perfect Curve ” – she turns in just the funniest comic performance of idiocy I’ve ever seen – her selfie taking , bored 144 character attention span and equally ridiculous creative buzz word suggestions , are comedy gold !
You might not get the subtle satire at work here but you’ll definitely should get the funny acting !
David Tenant also narrates it , in his “super funny” dead pan Scottish way.
” Brilliant ! ” ( sound bite !)
The format of Staellie Sunday is super relaxed.
Boys v Girls
…and will it be those BLUESTOCKINGS ( the name for a society of elite intelligent young woman who fought for education and to be able to be considered the intellectual equal of men )
them cool HISTORYBOYZ , down there in their clever, off-the-cuff Impro-styled fastfact Hood !?
The Battle of the Cultured Youth Sexes it is then !
As a ” dejeuner ” suggestion :
Each one is to visit their local supermarket deli counter and bring in 1/2 items of something they have never tried to taste before for a Spures picnic lunch
Why not fancy a tSte of eg:
Feta stuffed baby peppers
Thai Satay sticks
Chinese chicken wings
Mini Pork pies
Mini Scotch egg
Smoked salmon gravadlax
Swedish whole grain crisp rolls
Pain au chocolate
Mini patisserie tarts
Stem Ginger bread
Dark chocolate tiffin
And the broader , tastier foodie list goes on ….
Lidl is a good bet for cheap continental deli treats …( much comes direct from Spain , Italy , Greece – bypassing the UK/ USA conglomerates .
Please remember nothing that has to be cooked , unless you cook it the night before and bring it in to have cold – most deli Tapas work better cold
Bring a paper/ plastic plate , napkin and cutlery to use for yourself and a bag/ plastic container to store your food and to take any left overs away if you want.
Is is a big “CULTURAl PICNIC ” so we need enough so that everyone can have a taste of something. At least twice !
You could bring a small “sweet and savoury” item if you see something you’d like to try.
You are going into your rehearsals for your DANCE item in The E Showcase in the afternoon , so can graze on left overs to your PACE heart’s content all day.
Juice/ water can be brought or bought from Vending machines.
You’ll go away with your mind and taste buds blown by the food of life – your body satisfied by exercise and through the uplifting power of dance
Great day …better way …worthwhile endeavour …?
