The first three sessions of the Foundation Theatre Programme have been exciting – a chance for you to think “outside” of the box and act “inside” of the box.
Begin to think about what you have achieved in that box so far. You should see it as an opportunity to try out new skills, to be watched, to take risks, to shine, to be different, to be creative, to be dramatic, to learn, to make mistakes, to try, to achieve…
The box is there as our performing area – our stage – YOUR stage!
So far you have:
- Reflected on your “true colours”
- Listened to your voice by thinking about TONE, VOLUME, CLARITY, PACE and PITCH
- Explored physical theatre through SPACE, TIME, FLOW and WEIGHT (Here is the link to the track of music I mentioned in this workshop – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hN_q-_nGv4U).
Your sketchbook is there for you to express your feelings and to reflect on the workshops. Be creative with it – the pages are your stage. Fill it with as much information as you wish. Continue to include your research in your sketchbook. You may also wish to share some of your facts and thoughts here.
Come ready to be creative next session! (A chance to express feelings and music through colours and shape).
Think… Wassily Kandinsky:
“There is no must in art because art is free.”

Everything starts with a dot…
See you all after the mid-term break
