Last night 37 elite PACE members received their Firefly commendation certificates at the University of West of Scotlwnd in Paisley – at an award ceremony hosted by UWS Vice Principal – Malcolm Foley.
It came as quite a pleasant surprise to the students of Firefly who managed to attend – they really were the centre of attention in such a grand way – getting a little taste of how it will feel to graduate from a “course” in the future.
Our intrepid “Firelfy 13″ all looked great as they went up to receive their awards from external module support tutor Jane Robertson who attended the performance of Exostrachismenos for the Verona Cup Challenge 2013 and was astounded at the level of performance delivered by all.
Jane was delighted to be photographed with each of the students as they received their award and felt inspired to be part of this new wave of creative studentship – alive and kicking in the halls of PACE.
Parents and friends cheered on the students as they each received their certificate – testament to the pride and enthusiasm for the module course that has grown exponentially from it.
Drinks and nibbles were served afterwards and a battery of flashing cameras recorded the group photo , for posterity !
A good time was had by all , but maybe not as good as the actual show performances of Exostrachismenos back in October which undoubtedly launched the success of this first PACE module course in a real blaze of creative glory.
We look forward to welcoming a whole new Firefly for 2014 shortly – but one thing is sure – they have big creative boots to fill!
Our second module is shortly to be approved for 2015. An advanced performance module to follow on from the level of work achieved in ” Performance 1″
We hope to have further details of all Firefly courses for 2014/5 shortly.
Module work will now be a real part of PACE tuition and something that all PACE members can aspire to be part of at some point – as part of their PACE journey.
Never to late or early to get Fireflying!
